Parent Engagement Policy

International Newcomer Academy Involvement Policy 2025-2026

Statement of Purpose

Here at INA we believe that parent involvement positively impacts student achievement. In order to successfully involved parents in their child’s education, we will provide various opportunities for parent participation and various forms of communication. Parents are partners in the education of their children and their involvement is needed and valued. Parent involvement activities are ongoing and are evaluated annually by the SBDM committee to ensure that they meet the needs of our community.

As a campus, we align ourselves with the following goals:

1. During the 2025-2026 school year classroom instruction will incorporate high quality learning experiences through the Think Cera,Bluebonnet math,I-Ready math and reading Land curriculum that promotes critical thinking skills, differentiation, scaffolded support for emergent bilinguals, and formative assessments.

2. During the 2025 226 teacher professional learning committees we will engage in in-depth conversations to analyze data and student work; to identify trends in student misconceptions, determine the root cause as to why students may not have learned the concept.

3. During the 2025-2026 school year we will identify and target students that need additional support through differentiated paths of instruction in small groups.

4. All operations on the campus and in the district will be efficient and effective.

5. Family Involvement and community partnerships will be an integral part of the education of all children.

Evaluation

Our parent involvement program will be evaluated by conducting surveys (District level) with families. Results will be reviewed with the SBDM and plans for improvement will be developed when needed. We will also evaluate attendance at parent events. Low attendance will be brought to SBDM to address ways to increase parent participation.
